Why do you go to a hardware store? Yes, to get the doohickey, but also for the help and advice of someone who knows whether this one or that one will do the trick and how to install it! This is the place. Eugene True Value Hardware has been run by the same family forever or so. The next generation works there as well. Long time employees know everything about building it or fixing it and gardens, tools, electrical, plumbing, painting too. They cater to the contractors and the do-it-yourself guys (and gals). They seem to have everything in a very convenient location.

This is truly one of the last true hardware stores in eugene. The employees there are friendly and go out of their way to help you on whatever project you are working on. I remember it when it was located downtown and it's as good today as it was back then..if not better.
