The state also has a unique rural-urban dynamic, influenced by the natural beauty of the mountains and the unique nature of its people. Outdoor music festivals remain popular, and jam bands have had a strong presence in Eugene for many years, a grateful tradition that dates back to the early days of music in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These festivals are considered a cultural highlight for all musicians, classical and otherwise trained. We are grateful that we and others can enjoy a good old time with our friends and family at the Eugene Music Festival and other outdoor music events.
